Not that anybody's really buying a lot of electric cars yet, but someday they will, maybe, and when they do, technology is going to be a heck of a lot better than it is today. Take that “Emergency Charge Cable” you get with your battery-powered car. Somewhere along its length is a fuse about the size and weight of a big bottle of scotch gift-packaged in a cardboard box. It's bigger than is practical, especially when you wind up all that electrical cord and lay it in the cargo area, so a company called Aerovironment has a solution. A palm-sized solution.
